Now, this watch looks like what people 100 years ago would’ve thought is the watch of the future, whereas today we look at it and enjoy its endearing, space-age-like nostalgia. Whichever way you’ll have it, this adorable Casio watch is a true eye-catcher and a must-have for any fashion aficionado. The analog/digital hybrid and gold body make for visual pleasures at perfectly balanced crossroads between charm and tackiness. Unfortunately, the company’s CSR initiatives – if there are any – are treated rather nebulously.

This watch is unlike any piece of timewear you’ve ever seen before. This multicolored, amber- and marble-inspired accessory will attract its fair share of gazes – as a true statement piece should – and is therefore maybe not the right fit for those of you interested in something more subtle. As a brand born from Surf Culture, Nixon is a frontrunner when it comes to ocean preservation, meaning their products are made with an affinity for greener materials and practices.

Skagen
Design :⭐⭐⭐⭐
Value for Money : ⭐⭐⭐
Sustainability : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trustpilot : ⭐⭐
This fun, pop-art-sytle watch is as visually appealing as it is functional, with its blue shade and stop-watch sub-dial. Still, a fashion-watch more so than an every-day timepiece, this model may be a bit too special for you if you’re looking for something that is more adaptable. There is something to be said about Skagen’s enthusiasm for environmentalism, with 90% of their watches made sustainably.

SEIKO
Design :⭐⭐⭐⭐
Value for Money : ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sustainability : ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trustpilot : ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Japanese brand Seiko is world-renowned for the watches of its wheel house, and a true classic. Clocking in at over $300, this is one of the pricier watches on the list, though one of the cheapest of its kind. The design is somewhat vintage-reminiscent, perhaps a bit old hat if you prefer more modern looking timewear, although it’s safe to say it’d be a loyal, high-end option. Seiko is engaged in a number of ethical missions, but these don’t tend to involve the customer directly and thus appear somewhat vague.

DIESEL
Design :⭐⭐⭐⭐
Value for Money : ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sustainability : ⭐⭐⭐
Trustpilot : ⭐⭐
Diesel has been all the rave since Belgian designer Glenn Martens – known for his own label Y/Project as well as guest stints at the likes of Jean Paul Gauthier – took over the brand’s Creative Direction, and dressed Julia Fox, among many others. This watch is pretty unique, with its all over rose gold design. Very cool, very on trend, though debatable in both its aesthetic and ecological sustainability. While the latter certainly seems to be of high importance for the company at large, it is unclear if or how their investments here treacle down into their watch collections.

Fossil’s Raquel Dual Time model is a standout for a multitude of reasons; namely, its shape, its many details, and its twin dial. The strap it comes with is made of eco leather and helps create an intriguing watch that doubles as a piece of surrealist jewelry. Fossil also runs a foundation that supports educational and business ventures in developing countries. 1% of all of the company’s revenue is funneled straight into said foundation.

This military-inspired Timex watch blends in perfectly with the earthy color palette of your fall/winter-wardrobe, making for a great mix of athleticism and casualness. Whether or not this timepiece’s undeniable coolness overweighs the fact that Timex keeps things rather ominous when it comes to their sustainability engagements shall be your call.

LUMINOX

Value for Money : ⭐⭐⭐
Sustainability : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trustpilot : ⭐⭐⭐
As its name implies, Luminox’s Navy Seal model is incredibly durable and equipped to withstand all conditions. It’s waterproof and has a glow-in-the-dark dial, ensuring high performance in any given scenario. Needless to say, this piece is very athletic in its design, somewhat pricey and not ideally suited to be an every-day casual timepiece. If you do, however, find yourself atop of mountains, deep diving or on cave explorations, this is your way to go. As far as the family-owned company’s green-score goes, their factory is powered by 80% solar energy, with their watches made in and delivered from Switzerland, the land of watches.
